Small Business Saturday in the age of COVID

Small Business Saturday in the age of COVID

Hello, lovely friends. I'm coming to you today with some of my thoughts and gratitude on Small Business Saturday.
Every year, this day comes and goes. And every year, we are grateful. But this year feels different. REALLY different.

2020 started like every other year - coming off of the Christmas season and making big plans for the rest of the year. Shows were scheduled and paid for; supplies were ordered; designs were underway.ย Then the pandemic took the world by storm, and we were left in the shambles of its wake. For our safety and that of our community, I had to shift everything for the business to survive while the ground continuously movesย beneath our feet.

For over 6 months, we were fractured and separated, working from home in a piecemeal way to keep the business afloat and roofs over our heads. It has only been in the past few weeks that we've carefully and strategically eased back into working in the studio, with stringent safety and sanitary measures in place to keep us, and our customers, safe and healthy. It has been chaoticย and messy, but we managed to get through to this point - all thanks to you. To each of you who placed orders with us for distanced gift giving, who bought gift cards to keep us afloat during the early uncertain times, who donated to our Patreon, who sent cards, gifts, masks, and good wishes.ย

We are not out of the woods yet - not by a long shot. But while we continue to work through this,ย we are feeling incredibly grateful for our community and our customers who helped get us to this point through one of the darkest years we've ever seen.ย

So weย thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for not leaving us in the dark for long.ย

Thank you, today and all days, for shopping small.

Hugs,
Lauren
